POSITION SUMMARY
The adjunct faculty member is a part-time instructor expected to provide high-quality education and mentorship to students at The King's University (TKU). Reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, this position requires expertise in Physical Education, effective classroom management, and alignment with the University's mission and values.

Position Specific Responsibilities
- Teach assigned PHED courses (e.g., fitness, wellness, team or individual sports, health education) in alignment with established curriculum and learning outcomes
- Plan and lead physical activities, demonstrations, and/or instructional sessions appropriate to course content
- Instruct students on proper techniques, safety practices, and use of equipment
- Assess student performance through participation, skill development, and/or written assignments (if applicable)
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and development
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and grades
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and motivating learning environment
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and risk management practices during all activities
- Utilize the institution’s learning management system for communication and course management (if applicable)
- Comply with institutional policies and applicable regulations, including FERPA
- The role will require the ability to teach on ground from time to time.
- Model and uphold TKU's core beliefs and values, adhering to the TKU Social Covenant.
- Maintain accurate records and submit required reports and grades within deadlines.
- Attend faculty meetings and training sessions as requested.
- Comply with all policies, legal requirements, and directives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related discipline
- Prior teaching experience in higher education
- Specialized certifications (e.g., personal training, group fitness, strength and conditioning)
- Experience teaching a variety of physical activity courses
- Knowledge of exercise science principles, physical fitness, and wellness practices
- Ability to demonstrate and teach physical skills effectively and safely
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills
- Ability to engage students with varying levels of physical ability and experience
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Commitment to promoting student wellness and holistic development
